BEDFORD HILLS – A female inmate at the Bedford Hills Correctional
Facility has been indicted by a Westchester County grand jury on four
felony counts of assault for slashing another inmate at the prison with
a razor.

Tami Eldridge, 41, and the victim inmate are serving long term incarcerations
for homicide.

Eldridge was also indicted on charges of promoting prison contraband and
obstructing governmental administration.

The indictment was the result of a violent assault committed by Eldridge
against the other inmate at the prison on December 5, 2013.

Eldridge attacked the victim with a razor causing injuries to her face
and hand.

During the attack, corrections officers attempted to separate the two
inmates leading to one officer sustaining minor injuries.

The victim inmate was treated at Westchester Medical Center and returned
to the prison.

Bedford Hills houses female inmates and is the only maximum security prison
for women in the state.
