ALBANY – The Town of Rosendale will receive a $2 million grant and a $1 million no-interest loan to upgrade its drinking water system.
The money will come from the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation.
The project, which is expected to start early this year, will improve the town’s drinking water treatment plant, its water distribution system and 500,000 gallon water storage tank.  Improvements to the Rosendale infrastructure will include replacement of aged undersized water mains, hydrants, valves and drinking water meters.
Potable water is currently produced by the town-owned drinking water plant, which utilizes water from the adjacent Still Pond Reservoir.
