CATSKILL – State Police Wednesday arrested a Durham man on a charge of felony assault against a child. The incident allegedly occurred at a private residence in the Town of Durham.
Troopers at the Catskill barracks charged Brian Smith, 35, following an investigation into a reported assault of a child who is under the age of seven. He is not related to the victim. In addition to the felony assault count, police also charged Smith with misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
Smith was sent to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
