NEWBURGH – Newburgh native Deirdre Glenn has been named director of planning and development for the City of Newburgh.
Glenn was the first executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh, serving for 10 years.  She later became a volunteer and later director and CEO of the Newburgh Armory Unity center where she continues to serve on its board of directors.
“This is a time of challenge but extraordinary promise in which to work for the City of Newburgh,” she said.
Prior to returning to her hometown, Glenn worked in business and management for the University of Pittsburgh and for the National College of Art and Design and National Museum of Ireland in Dublin, Ireland.
