RHINEBECK – The Rhinebeck and East Kingston Fire Departments responded to a car fire on the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge just after 1 p.m. on Friday.  The fire was supplemented by explosions, a witness told Mid-Hudson News.

The vehicle was believed to be carrying propane tanks at the time it caught fire.

Lane closures were expected on the span across the Hudson River while first responders battled the blaze and bridge crews inspected the structure for damage.
