William Lee Smith, born to the late Mable and Meshick Smith on September 7, 1953, bid farewell to this world on May 2, 2024. William’s journey was one marked by hard work, love and dedication to his family and his craft.

Beginning his career alongside his father, William learned the value of dedication and craftsmanship early on. Eventually, he ventured into entrepreneurship, founding his own paving business, W.L. Smith Paving. Through sheer determination and a strong work ethic, he built his business from the ground up, becoming a respected figure in his community.

William was not one to retire easily; he continued to toil tirelessly until the very end. His dedication to his work was matched only by his love for his family. As a grandfather, he was loving and caring, cherishing every moment spent with his grandchildren Kyle, Ariel, Eric, Tiffany, and Alora.

William was blessed with a large and loving family. a testament to the kindness and generosity he shared with those around him. He is survived by his son and daughter, Scott Morley and Amanda Smith; his sisters, Pattie Smith, Sandra and Steve Ferraro, Paula and the late Orlando Noriega, Pauline and Chris Flickenschild, and Holly and Bob Bangor; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members whom he loved dearly.

In the memories of those who knew him, William will forever be remembered as a hard worker, a devoted grandfather, and a beloved family man. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his legacy of love and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew him. William Lee Smith will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8pm on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A funeral service will be held at 7:30pm at the funeral home.
