Richard L. Gardner

Richard L. Gardner, 69, of Hyde Park, died on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie.

Born March 22, 1954, in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of the late Maurice C. and Virginia S. Bunting Gardner.

He was a 1973 graduate of F.D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park.

Mr. Gardner was a skilled contractor and worked in various building trades over the years.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Erica; and two sons, Richard and Matthew.

He is also survived by his sisters, Beverly Gardner of Germantown, and Kathy Gardner and Eileen Conners and husband, Lynn, all of Corfu, NY, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two sisters, Judith Conners and Roberta Lofaro; and brother, Charles Gardner.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM, April 26th at Sweet’s Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.

Burial of his ashes will follow in the family plot at Union Cemetery of Hyde Park.
