It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of, Marie A. Briggs, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, wife, and friend to all whose lives she touched. Marie passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 24, 2023. She was 96 years old. A lifelong Kingston native, Marie was well-loved in her community. She was a resident of Yosman Towers Senior Housing for over 30 years where her loving soul and feisty personality were always the topic of conversation.
Born April 7, 1927, Marie was the daughter of the late, Frederick and Margaret (Donaldson) Crantz, and was the mother of seven children. Donna Robinson and her late husband Abraham, William “Bill” Sickler III and his wife Sheila, Dennis Sickler and his late wife Eva, Katherine Sickler, Karen Sickler her husband James, the late Steven Sickler and his wife Dawn, and Darren Sickler and his wife Mary Ellen.
Marie was also the adored grandmother of 11 loving grandchildren: Abe and Rudy Robinson, Stefanie Sickler, Dennis, Shannon, and Amber Sickler, Damon Brodhead, Sean Sickler, and Jordan and Hannah Sickler. Additionally, Marie had numerous great grandchildren as well as a great-great grandson.
Marie was preceded in passing by her first husband William Sickler Jr. and her second husband John Briggs. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
A private graveside service will be held at Wiltwyck Cemetery.
