Hilda Bezares

March 19, 1940 – April 7, 2024

 

BEEKMAN – Hilda J. Bezares, 84, an area resident since 2002 and formerly of Riverdale, died on April 7, 2024, at the Grand at River Valley.

Born in Hackensack, NJ on March 19, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Hilda Bezares. Hilda received her Doctorates in Education and was employed by the New York City Board of Education as a Guidance Counselor at Roosevelt High School. She was a parishioner of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction and enjoyed needlepoint and growing orchids.

Hilda is survived by her husband, William Anshen; her children and their spouses, Leon J. and Christi Horowitz, Christopher and Bonnie Horowitz, Marcelline and Joseph Felter, and Samantha Horowitz; her grandchildren, Amanda Horowitz and her husband, Cisco Andujar, Lauren Horowitz, Jacob Horowitz, Derek Horowitz, Tabatha and Nick Samson, David Felter, Sarah Felter and Christopher Horowitz; a great-grandson; her sisters, Margaret Bezares and Linda Goldberg; and two nieces and a nephew.

Services will be private with interment at St. Denis Cemetery.
