Francis J “Frank” Flandreau, 76, a longtime resident of Red Hook, NY, passed away Tuesday, March 28th, 2023, at the Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Born on February 14, 1947, in Rhinebeck, NY, he was the son of the late William Marr and Mary Elizabeth (Kohn) Flandreau. Frank married Carol Daigle on October 6, 1973, in Waterbury, CT, and she survives at home in Red Hook.

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1968.

Through his 50-year career, Frank was an over the road truck driver, with Ecfo Products of Poughkeepsie and for last 30 years with Yellow Freight based in Maybrook, NY. He was a proud member of Teamsters Local 707 & Local 445.

Frank was a decade’s long communicant of St. Christopher’s Church in Red Hook. He was a member of Red Hook Post #7765 VFW, and Montgomery Post 429 American Legion in Rhinebeck.

In addition to his loving wife of 49 years, Carol Flandreau of Red Hook; he is survived by his children, Scott (Jackie) Flandreau of Red Hook, NY, Lori (Thomas, Jr.) Miller of Red Hook, NY, and Michael (Jennifer) Flandreau of Germantown, NY; his loving grandchildren, Taylor Flandreau, Kelsey Flandreau, Kristine Miller, Emma Flandreau, Alex Miller, Connor Flandreau, Nathan Miller, Sammy Flandreau, Noah Flandreau, and Sara Flandreau; his siblings, William (Jean) Flandreau of Red Hook, NY, Patricia Murray of FL, and Joanne Palen of FL; his in-laws, Ron (Chris) Daigle of Waterbury, CT, Allan (Judy) Daigle of Erlanger, KY, Donna Tortorici of Boxspring, GA, Thomas Grattan of Brandon, FL and Jeanine Flandreau of Grandville, MI; along with extended family, and friends.

His daughter, Kristine Flandreau (Nov 4, 1994), and his siblings, Jean Grattan, Mary Westbrook, and James Flandreau, all predecease him.

Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes in Red Hook on Monday, April 3, 2023, from 4 to 7 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at St. Christopher’s Church, Red Hook, NY. Rev. Jeffrey Maurer will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook.

Memorial donations may be made in Frank’s memory to the Red Hook Post #7765 Veterans of Foreign Wars, PO Box 5, Red Hook, NY 12571.
