NEW YORK – Six school districts in the greater Hudson Valley-Catskills region will receive $7.7 million from the US Environmental Protection Agency to purchase new electric school buses.
“Transitioning to a zero-emission school bus fleet not only represents our commitment to a greener future but shows our commitment to the health and well-being of the next generation,” said Governor Kathy Hochul.
The Arlington Central School District will receive $145,000 for one bus.
The North Rockland Central School District will receive $2 million to purchase 10 buses.
Hyde Park Central School District will receive $3.4 million to purchase 17 electric buses.
Margaretville Central School District will receive $345,000 for one bus.
Scarsdale Union Free School District will receive $800,000 for four buses.
Union Free School District of the Tarrytowns will receive just over $1 million to purchase five buses.
