Red Cross responds to support 26 people in Hudson Valley

HAWTHORNE – The American Red Cross, Metro NY North Chapter is helping 26 people after two emergencies in Rockland County between June 24 and July 1.

  The Red Cross responded to help people affected by the following disasters in Rockland County:

  • One household (14 individuals) after a fire on Viola Road in Monsey on June 25
  • Two households (12 individuals) after tree damage on Hempstead Road in Spring Valley on June 26

 

The Red Cross Metro NY North Disaster Action Team provided emergency assistance, including financial assistance, to meet the families’ immediate needs. The Red Cross also typically provides information packets regarding recovery resources and guidance, cleanup kits, comfort kits with personal care items, snacks, waters, and other items as needed.

 

Red Cross caseworkers will continue to work with families to connect them with additional resources for long-term recovery needs.
