MASONVILLE – A single-engine plane carrying five people crashed in the Town of Masonville in Delaware County Sunday afternoon, killing everyone onboard, State Police said.

All five were family members from Georgia in Cooperstown for a baseball tournament.

They were identified as Roger Beggs, 76, Laura VanEpps, 43, Ryan VanEpps, 42, James VanEpps, 12, and 10-year-old Harrison VanEpps.

Troopers said the plane departed from Alfred S. Nader Regional Airport in Oneonta, and was traveling to West Virginia to refuel with its ultimate destination as Cobb County International Airport in Atlanta, Georgia.

Several local and Delaware County police agencies assisted State Police in the investigation.

Troopers are working with the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board to investigate the cause of the crash.
