GOSHEN – Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler announced figures from the State Division of Criminal Justice Services show the county maintained consistency in dispositions of felony and misdemeanor criminal cases from 2019 through 2023.

The DA said the county crime rates appeared to be relatively steady despite changes in the law and COVID.

“Pre-reform, criminal justice reform, during COVID and post-criminal justice reform has been a very tumultuous period, but yet in Orange County, remarkably our numbers have remained very consistent and very stead and that is a testament to the municipal police agencies and all the law enforcement agencies the DA’s office worked with,” he said.

Hoovler said as part of the restructuring of his office, he implemented a digital discovery system and Early Case Assessment Bureau.
