POUGHKEEPSIE – Less than 12 hours before this morning’s ribbon cutting and pool opening at Pulaski Park in Poughkeepsie, an individual went for a late night swim.

A city worker watching surveillance camera monitors on Friday observed a person climb the fence at the Pulaski pool and then jump in the water around 11:30 p.m.

The dispatcher provided a description of the person to officers on patrol.

The call was canceled a few minutes before officers arrived after the dispatcher’s monitor showed the person get out of the water, climb the fence, and flee the area on foot.

The ribbon cutting ceremony for the new pool house at Pulaski is taking place today at 10 a.m. and the official pool opening follows the event.
