LAGRANGE – An elderly man is presumed dead after last night’s storm caused a tree to fall on his mobile home on Feller Court.  The storm that struck the Noxon Road area of LaGrange toppled several trees along Noxon Road and Route 55, along with the tree that landed on the mobile home.

The LaGrange Fire Department was dispatched to the Feller Court address after a caller noticed that a tree had fallen on the man’s house at approximately 7:30 a.m.  The rear of the trailer, where the man’s bedroom is located, is obscured from the view of passersby because of a shed adjacent to the home.

The arriving first responders called for the activation of the technical rescue team, consisting of specially-trained firefighters from the Arlington, LaGrange, and Poughkeepsie fire departments to assist in rescuing the man from his home.  It was later determined that the man was deceased and the operation turned to recovering the man’s body from the heavily damaged home.

Workers from Out on a Limb tree service were requested to assist in removing the tree so firefighters could stabilize the trailer and remove the man.
