MAHOPAC – A loud cheer rang out on the Mahopac High School athletic field Tuesday evening when 335 members of the Class of 2024 adorned in the blue and gold caps and gowns entered the stadium led by their Principal Pat Keavens, himself a 1995 graduate of MHS.
Superintendent of Schools Christine Tona congratulated the class for their achievements both in and out of the classroom, reminding them it was OK to change course during one’s lifetime. “Some of the world’s finest teachers began their careers in other fields. Never feel dissatisfied in your profession. Change is often good.”
Class Valedictorian Kailee Mastropietro, who is off to Binghamton University in the fall and Salutatorian Monika Lazar, who will be studying at the University of Florida in September, each addressed their classmates and more than 3,000 in attendance on a balmy evening.
