Women caught after stealing thousands in cosmetics from Kohls

CORTLANDT MANOR – Two women were captured while a third is on the run after stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of cosmetics from several stores, including the Kohls in Cortlandt Manor on Saturday night.  The State Police, with assistance from a loss prevention agent at Kohls, were able to apprehend two of the three suspects.

On Saturday evening at approximately 7:55 p.m. at the East Main Street Kohls in Cortlandt Manor, a loss prevention supervisor observed three women in the process of stealing high-value Sephora Cosmetics and he contacted the police.  Responding troopers observed the fleeing vehicle and began to pursue the suspected thieves.  The car was stopped approximately one mile away at the Cortlandt Town Center near the DSW Shoe Warehouse.  One woman fled on foot while the other two were apprehended in the vehicle.

Police recovered more than $31,000 worth of stolen merchandise in the car.

The two suspects that were caught have been charged with felony grand larceny and endangering the welfare of a child.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information has been released.
