POUGHKEEPSIE – A man was shot Saturday just before 2:00 p.m. near the intersection of Smith Street and Dutcher Place by Warring Elementary School. City police indicated that no children were on the playground when the shooting occurred.
The 52-year-old victim was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was described as “not fully cooperative” with the detectives investigating the incident.
City of Poughkeepsie police detectives were still interviewing potential witnesses near the scene late Saturday afternoon.
