NEWBURGH – When organizers met with Paul Halayko at Newburgh Brewing Company to discuss a new venue for the Hudson River Craft Beer Festival, he pointed out a large window at the brewery, showing them People’s Waterfront Park.
That will be the place to be for beer aficionados on Saturday, September 28th when the popular event is held. The City of Beacon previously hosted the Hudson River Craft Beer Festival since 2013.
“I know that the City is overjoyed and eager to host the festival,” said Halayko, President of Newburgh Brewing Company, a craft beer institution in the Hudson Valley. “To the City’s credit, they have done some nice landscaping at People’s Waterfront Park and it is an absolute treasure. I think the Beer Festival is the biggest thing that it has hosted. This is a big deal.”
The Hudson River Craft Beer Festival was held at Beacon’s Riverfront Park for over a decade. However, a new policy has banned all ticketed events at the venue. The event attracts approximately 3,000 visitors annually and features beer vendors, live music, food trucks, and games.
Newburgh officially secured hosting the 2024 event this week.
