PATTERSON – A resident of Connecticut was killed early Wednesday when his car struck an oncoming vehicle along Route 311 in Patterson before slamming into a tree.
The crash took place in the vicinity of a railroad trestle along the winding road.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash but reports information is sketchy since a female passenger in the offending car was taken to Danbury Hospital and reportedly refuses to talk with investigators.
Police said the driver of the vehicle that was struck—a woman from Patterson—was also taken to Danbury Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities ask anyone who might have witnessed the crash to call the sheriff’s office at 845-225-4300. All calls will be kept confidential.
