KENT – State Senator Pete Harckham is taking his naloxone training seminar on the road tonight and will host a free community training in partnership with the Town of Kent to educate participants on how to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.

Harckham said, “participants will learn to identify the signs of an opioid overdose, and how to administer naloxone, a nasal spray medication and opioid antagonist often known by its brand name, Narcan.”

He said by the end of the training, all participants will leave with a two-year naloxone certification and a free emergency kit with two doses of naloxone and other safety equipment.

The training takes place at the Kent Justice Court, 25 Sybil’s Crossing in Kent Lakes from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
