MONTICELLO – The Village of Monticello’s municipal swimming pool needs to be replaced, but the cash-strapped municipality cannot afford to build a new one alone.
Village Manager James Snowden said the community will seek state funding for a new facility.
“As of now our swimming pool is outdated and very small and the village is trying to get a new pool built,” he said. “It’s a grant process and that is what we are trying to do.”
Snowden said the estimated cost of a new pool is between $300,000 and $400,000 and they are applying to the state for the funding.
