FORESTBURGH- Sheriffs in Sullivan County successfully located a missing disabled man who had been staying at an Airbnb in the Town of Forestburgh on Friday evening.

At approximately 1 a.m. on Saturday, sheriffs deputies received a report of a missing 30 year-old autistic man who had been staying in a short term rental on Philwold Road.  The man was visiting the area from Clifton Park.

Police say the man walked away from the residence in which he was staying at around 5 p.m. on Friday evening.  Sheriffs deputies conducted a search of the area and activated three members from its drone unit to search for the missing man from the sky.

At about 4:20 a.m., the missing man was spotted near the intersection of Cold Spring Road and Oakland Valley Road, approximately a mile and a half away from the home in which he was staying.  The man was safely returned to his family in good health, and told deputies that he was only a little hungry.

Sullivan County Sheriff Mike Schiff thanked the deputies and all who worked to safely reunite the man with his family.
