Police make arrest following hospital bomb threat

A bomb threat was made on Tuesday evening at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis

PORT JERVIS- Police have made an arrest following a Tuesday evening threat that a bomb was in the Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis.

Port Jervis City Police allege Michoel Alnahari, age 20, of Spring Valley called in the threat.  Alanhari has been charged with making a terroristic threat, a felony, and aggravated harassment, a misdemeanor.

Police say that Alnahari told staff that he was going to “blow up” the hospital on Tuesday, resulting police and hospital security conducting an extensive search of the facility.  Explosive detecting canine teams were also deployed from the state police, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, and the Town of Woodbury Police Department.

Police did not find any explosives in the hospital.

Alnahari is currently being held in the Port Jervis City lock-up facility awaiting an arraignment in Orange County Central Arraignment Court.
