NEWBURGH – City Hall in Newburgh and the office at 123 Grand Street will remain closed to the public on Wednesday, June 12th due to a cybersecurity incident.

Newburgh officials announced the breach on Tuesday but did not reveal the cause of the incident. The City has retained outside IT experts and other professionals working to restore operations fully. There is no disruption to City Police and Fire emergency lines and calls to 911 are fully functional. Residents can continue to use existing phone numbers and emails to contact City departments, but the security incident may have impacted both phone and email systems.

This could result in delayed delivery of messages and response times. A cyberattack is any intentional effort to steal, expose, alter, disable, or destroy data, applications, or other assets through unauthorized access to a network, computer system, or digital device.
