LONG ISLAND – Sixty-year-old Rex Heuermann, the suspected “Gilgo Beach Serial Killer” has been charged with the death of Poughkeepsie native Jessica Taylor in 2003.  The body of Taylor, an alleged prostitute working in Manhattan went missing in 2003 and was found decapitated and her hands had been cut off.  Her body was found in Manorville within a quarter-of-a-mile from the bodies of the original “Gilgo Four” victims.

In 2003, a dog walker found Taylor’s headless body and arms severed in a wooded area of Manorville, less than 50 miles from Heuermann’s residence. In 2011, her skull, hands, and forearm were recovered.

Heuermann was arraigned in Suffolk County for the death of Taylor and one other suspected sex worker, Sandra Costilla last week.  He is now charged with the murder of six of the women found on the beach.  In all, the remains of 11 people have been recovered in that area.  Police believe the murders date as far back as 1993 when police believe Costilla was killed.

Taylor’s family is represented by famed attorney Gloria Alred.
