NEWBURGH- Police in the City of Newburgh are investigating a shooting that has left one person dead and another injured.
Early Sunday morning, police were dispatched to 90 Courtney Avenue for a Shotspotter activation of multiple shots fired.
Responding officers located a victim of a gunshot wound in the area of 7 Monument Street. This victim was deceased.
A second victim was located at Montefiore St. Luke’s Hospital, with a non-life-threatening injury.
Identities of the victims are not being released at this time pending notifications to family.
The suspect remains unknown and police are requesting that anyone with information is asked to contact the city’s Detective Division 845-569-7509. All calls will remain confidential.
