WHITE PLAINS – Former Briarcliff Manor Police Officer Nicholas Tartaglione was given four consecutive life sentences in federal court on Monday.  Tartaglione had been convicted of killing Martin Luna, Miguel Luna, Urbano Santiago, and Hector Gutierrez.

Luna, according to federal prosecutors, was the intended target of Tartaglione, who suspected the victim had stolen money from him, following a drug transaction.  Williams previously said “Tartaglione tortured Martin, then forced one of his nephews to watch as Tartaglione strangled Martin to death with a zip-tie.” Tartagilione and

Tartaglione and two of his associates transported Miguel, Urbano and Hector – who were at the wrong place at the wrong time – to a remote wooded area, forced them to kneel, and executed them with gunshots to the back of the head.

He then buried all four victims in a mass grave on property he owned in Otisville.

Tartaglione was a resident of Mount Hope in Orange County and a former cop in Briarcliff Manor in Westchester and Pawling in Dutchess County.  Luna was killed in the Likquid Lounge in Chester, owned by a relative of Tartaglione.

The former cop had been charged with conspiracy to distribute and possession of five kilos of cocaine in addition to the four murders.
