WARWICK- The Warwick Police Department is preparing to host its annual Junior Police Academy for young people age 10 to 15 living in the Town of Warwick.  The program is designed to help young  people better understand the demands of police training and service.

The Junior Police Academy program consists of physical training, lectures, presentations, field trips and hands‐on activities.  Participants will have an opportunity to experience the various aspects of police work in a fun and structured setting.  

This year’s program will be run in two sessions, held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Warwick Valley High School.  The first session will take place from July 15 through July 26, and the second session is scheduled for August 5 through August 16.  Students must be available to attend all 10 days of the program.  

Eligible participants must attend the Warwick Valley, Greenwood Lake, or Florida School Districts and must complete a two-question essay.  The program has a limited capacity with a preference to first-time attendees.
