RUPCO to open waitlist for rental assistance program at Milton senior property

MILTON – RUPCO will open the waitlist for the rental assistance Project Based Voucher program at Milton Harvest, a senior community at 48 Josies Path in Milton at 9:30 a.m. on June 17.

The program, designed to uplift modest-income households, provides rental assistance for the designated one-bedroom units at Milton Harvest property by limiting the participant’s rent to 30 percent to 40 percent of their adjusted monthly income, with the subsidy covering the remaining portion of the rent.

To be eligible to apply, at least one member of the household must be 62 or older and have an annual household income that does not exceed the limits established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Additional eligibility requirements may apply.

Applications can be downloaded online from www.rupco.org or picked up at RUPCO’s Kingston office at 289 Fair Street. 

Eligible applications will be placed on the waitlist in the order in which they are received, and RUPCO will notify all applicants by mail to confirm whether or not they were placed on the waitlist.

  Project-based vouchers are a component of the Housing Choice Voucher program that provides rental assistance for low-income families at a specific apartment in a development. 

This program does not provide emergency assistance and the voucher is not transferable to another location. 

RUPCO is the local administrator for New York State Homes and Community Renewal of the Housing Choice Voucher in Ulster and Greene counties.
