TOWN OF WAPPINGER – The longstanding issue of flooding on Route 9D between Chelsea Road on the southern end and Old State Road on the north end began on Thursday.
Motorists can expect delays on the highly-traveled road between 7:00 am and 4:30 pm until the repairs are completed. The project is expected to last at least two weeks.
The contractor will repair existing culverts, install new culverts, and repair portions of the road damaged by flooding.
The project has been in the planning phases for an extended time due to underground natural gas lines in the area where the work is being performed.
*Route 9D, Wappingers area**. NYS DOT is doing construction and repairs effective 5/30 until 6/15 on 9D between Chelsea Road and Old State Road.
Repairs to culverts, installation of new Culvert(s) and drainage along with minor road repairs.
Motorists can expect heavy traffic between 7 am and 430 pm until repairs are completed.
