NEW HAMPTON- A New Hampton man pled guilty to a first-degree criminal sexual act with a minor younger than 11 in Orange County Court on Thursday.

Justin Babb, 41, faces up to 18 years in prison followed by 10 years of post-release supervision when he is sentenced on August 29th.  As part of the sentence, Babb will also be registered as a sex offender under the New York Sex Offender Registration Act, prosecutors said.

“This defendant’s unspeakable actions demand a lengthy prison sentence,” Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler said.  “It is inconceivable that a child could be subjected to the horrific acts perpetrated by this offender.  To be clear, my office, together with our law enforcement partners, will never stop seeking to hold sexual predators accountable for their conduct. We will continue to ensure justice is served in these challenging cases.”

Hoovler thanked the Orange County Child Abuse Investigation Unit for their investigation which led to Babb’s arrest.
