GREENWOOD LAKE – Strong winds and heavy rains tore through Greenwood Lake early Thursday morning uprooting trees, downing limbs and bringing down powerlines.
Weather forecasters are trying to determine if it was a tornado or a microburst that struck the area.
Resident Stephan Laboccetta said the storm seemed to last only about 20 minutes, but uprooted trees, blocking roads and tearing down powerlines.
He said the brief storm caused “total chaos,” but he said as far as he knows, no one was hurt.
