MIDDLETOWN – Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Middletown graduated 124 new Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) Wednesday at ceremonies held at the Paramount Theater.

The Class of 2024 achieved a 99 percent match rate to residencies all over the country, where they will be continuing their training at programs including Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD; Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, CT; and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. Ten will train at Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown and six in surrounding areas of Poughkeepsie and Valhalla.

Half of the class has chosen to train in primary care specialties and the remainder in other areas. Among the speakers delivering congratulatory remarks were Keynote Speaker Dr. Gerard Galarneau, president of Garnet Health Doctors and college Executive Dean Dre. Kenneth Steier.

“You have matched to excellent residencies all over the country and your potential to do great things is limitless. I know how hard you have worked. This was not an easy journey, and you should be very proud of your success,” Dr. Steier said.
