Dutchess Community College is offering financial aid workshops to current and prospective students.

POUGHKEESPIE – Recognizing that college-bound students and their families across the U.S. are facing barriers to completing the new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), Dutchess Community College is offering financial aid workshops to current and prospective students.

Workshops will be held on May 16th, May 30th and June 5th, with timeslots on the hour from 2 to 5 p.m.

DCC’s Student Financial Services office, together with faculty and professional staff from across the College, have provided one-on-one support to students and their families throughout the spring semester. In addition to these intensified efforts, three FAFSA Completion Workshops, held in April and early May, helped more than 50 current students overcome hurdles in the new financial aid application. The College is now extending this opportunity to prospective students.

“The financial aid simplification workshops are open to any students who have applied to DCC for the fall, might be considering applying to DCC, or who are members of the greater community considering attending college this fall,” said AVP for Enrollment and Student Success Brian Sondey. “We are doing everything we can to ensure that not a single student’s education is interrupted due to issues with the new FAFSA.”
