HYDE PARK-

Hyde Park Central School District staff gathered with community members on April 25 to discuss the district’s Blueprint for Excellence, “a practical, focused and meaningful approach to strategic planning.”

Priority areas that both staff and families decided were crucial include providing comprehensive supports and services to students, teachers reinforcing highly effective instructional practices and assuring everyone’s safety and security. District leaders’ hopes and dreams were shared including to build resilient learning communities where students, staff and families experience a strong sense of belonging.

Superintendent Dr. Pedro Roman expressed his sincere appreciation to the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council members, faculty and staff, parents and guardians, as well as community partners for consistently offering support and valuable feedback.

“I want to acknowledge and commend the dedication and hard work exhibited by each team member thus far,” Roman said. “Remember, it is through teamwork that we transform our dreams into reality.”

The final meeting in this endeavor is scheduled for May 23 at 5:30 p.m. at Hyde Park Elementary. During that meeting, Roman will delve into the refined mission, vision and core values based on the feedback provided by district leadership team members. Roman and his team will focus on devising an actionable plan to present to the Board of Education on June 20 with the ultimate goal of formally adopting a new strategic plan in July.

“This session will mark the culmination of our efforts to determine the essence of our mission, vision and core values,” Roman said. “While we recognize that the journey toward realizing our mission, vision and core values is ongoing, the prospect of our collective future is undeniably promising and bright.”
