Dear Reader,

When I purchased Mid-Hudson News last January, my goal was to continue the balanced news coverage that it has provided residents for more than two decades, making it the Hudson Valley’s preeminent online news source.

I also wanted to expand the website’s reach by providing more community stories about residents, our neighbors, the wonderful and selfless people making a difference in the Hudson Valley. Sadly, these days in papers throughout the country, community journalism seems like a lost art form.

But not at Mid-Hudson News. We know how much it matters and we continue to expand our community coverage. Today, we are proud to share the story of Suzanne Pegg, a retired Teaching Assistant at Minisink Valley Elementary School, who now operates Suzie Q’s Cookies and Ice Cream (suzieqscookiesandcream.com).

The business provided Suzanne with a hobby and an outlet, but also allowed her to keep a connection with her beloved former students and their families. Through Suzie Q’s, “Ms. Pegg” has remained a part of the Minisink Valley community that she loves.

We want to tell more Ms. Pegg stories in all of the counties that Mid-Hudson News proudly covers. We are committed to sharing your stories, your accomplishments, your milestones. So, I ask you, if you have a great community story, a wonderful citizen or group to highlight, please email me at mike@midhudsonnews.com, and we will try our best to write it.

We remain committed to community news.

Sincerely,

Mike Martucci
