CARMEL – A 42-year-old Hyde Park man has been arrested by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office on a felony grand larceny charge for a July 2023 incident at his former place of employment.  Putnam County Sheriff Kevin McConville announced the arrest on Tuesday.

According to the sheriff, deputies were dispatched to a Philipstown business in July 2023 for a report of larceny of funds allegedly by a former employee identified as Joshua Queen, who made unauthorized purchases using a company credit card.

Putnam County Sheriff’s detectives began investigating the case and conducted numerous interviews and forensic analysis, according to McConville.  The detectives identified Queen as the suspect and say he used the company credit card to make more than $12,000 in fraudulent and unauthorized purchases during two months in 2023, before being terminated.

Queen, a convicted felon, turned himself in at the sheriff’s office on April 10, 2024, and was charged with felony grand larceny.  He was arraigned in Philipstown on April 10 and remanded to the Putnam County Jail to await a bail hearing.  The hearing was held in Putnam County Court the following day and Queen was released on his own recognizance under the supervision of county probation.  A future court date is pending.
