GOSHEN – Several high-tech manufacturing companies are looking for locations to expand and Orange County is wooing them.

Conor Eckert, vice president for business attraction with the Orange County Partnership, told the county legislature’s oversight committee on Monday that the county is competing on a global scale for supply chain business.

“We are seeing billions of dollars of opportunities in the offshore wind supply chain, food and beverage, life sciences, quality jobs that we are strategically in position to attract over the years and now we are seeing real opportunities here,” he said.

Eckert said preparing shovel-ready sites will make the county competitive in attracting businesses with high paying jobs.

Partnership President Maureen Halahan told lawmakers they have opportunities to attract a French food manufacturer, an offshore wind energy cable manufacturer and an India-based pharmaceutical manufacturer.
