Police arrest man on gun charges, seize ghost gun

The modified, unserialized ghost gun seized by the City of Poughkeepsie police.

POUGHKEEPSIE – A 23-year-old Poughkeepsie man has been arrested on felony gun charges after police responded to a complaint of menacing Saturday morning on Hooker Avenue.  City of Poughkeepsie Police responded to the call at approximately 10:14 a.m. and identified Angelo Lavin-Balmori as the suspect in the complaint.

Shortly after taking the complaint, police located Lavin-Balmori and detained him while a search warrant was obtained.  With the warrant, police recovered a loaded 9mm ghost gun, equipped with an auto-sear device, making the weapon capable of firing in a fully automatic mode.

Lavin-Balmori was charged with three felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon, processed, and held for arraignment.
