GREENWOOD LAKE – A Greenwood Lake man got an unusual visitor early Thursday morning when a bear climbed through a window at his 7 Seventh Road residence.
The man grabbed his licensed handgun and shot the animal, which quickly climbed out the window and took off.
The animal, which was rather large, had apparently tried to gain entry into the home through other means, but eventually climbed in through the window at around 12:30, Greenwood Lake Police said.
The State Department of Environmental Conservation was notified and planned on attempting to track the animal.
No humans were injured in the incident.
