Cops arrest three members of theft ring in Town of Poughkeepsie

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Three people have been arrested on felony charges following a targeted enforcement of an organized retail theft ring operating in and around the Town of Poughkeepsie, according to the state police.

On March 22, 2024, state troopers and Town of Poughkeepsie police arrested Christopher Dale, 33, of New York City on the felony charges of criminal possession of a forged instrument, grand larceny, and conspiracy.  According to New York State Trooper Aaron Hicks, the investigation determined that Dale and accomplice Neigabe Stewart, 41, of Mount Vernon used $1,400 in counterfeit U.S. currency to purchase approximately $1,270 worth of merchandise from Home Depot. The third suspect, 44-year-old Wappinger resident Shefqet Krasniqi was found with over $1,200 worth of stolen merchandise.

Stewart was charged with felony conspiracy and Krasniqi was charged with felony grand larceny.

Christopher Dale and Neigabe Stewart were arraigned in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court with  Stewart being remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.  Dale was released under the supervision of the Dutchess County Probation Department. Krasniqi was issued an appearance ticket returnable in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court.
