NEW CITY – A 45-year-old Bronx man has pled guilty in Rockland County Court to the felony charge of sexual abuse in connection with the sexual assault on a seven-year-old girl.

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Walsh II said on June 15, 2017, the victim was attending a birthday party with her family at Rockland Lake State Park when she was changing out of a bathing suit in the family’s vehicle and Francisco Lopez-Gomez entered and sexually abused her.

The abuse was not reported until years later and once it was, the NYPD, State Police and Rockland DA’s Office investigated the matter.

At the time of his arrest, Lopez-Gomez was serving a probationary sentence for a conviction for endangering the welfare of a child as a misdemeanor from March 29, 2021 from the Bronx.

He will now have to register as a sex offender and faces sentencing in June.
