NEWBURGH- Police are investigating a shooting that took place on Saturday at the Mullins Apartments located on Walsh Road in the City of Newburgh.
Yellow crime scene tape blocked off a playground in the complex shortly after 9 p.m. and there was a heavy police presence at the scene. Police could be seen searching the area for evidence with flashlights and were speaking with residents of the complex to gather information about the shooting.
Individuals on the scene confirmed that at least one person had been injured after being shot in the leg and said the injured person was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital. No details about the victim or their condition were available and it is unknown if police made any arrests in connection with the incident.
The Mullins Apartments is a public housing complex operated by the Newburgh Housing Authority. Residents of the complex said that it is typically a quiet community.
