Ellenville police seek help from the public to solve shooting (VIDEO)

ELLENVILLE- Police in Ellenville are seeking tips from members of the public to solve a shooting that took place at the Canal Lock Apartment complex on Friday night.  The incident left one man injured and police say children were in the apartment when shots rang out.

According to Village of Ellenville Police Chief Phillip Mattracion, officers responded to a call of shots fired around 10 p.m. and found a man inside the apartment who had been shot.  Mattracion said that the assailants were wearing ski masks to conceal their identity and that the attack was targeted.

Police are still searching for the perpetrators and Mattracion said the police do not believe there is a threat to the public, however, he is encouraging anyone with information about the shooting to contact police at 845-647-4422.
