The new facility is a major investment in the fight against hunger in the region and will allow the food bank to expand its commitment to serving an additional 179,000 people.

A yellow beam was signed by dozens of guests were in attendance to watch it hoisted to its final position atop the facility.  The beam is the final part of the steel structure of the distribution center.

CEO of the Hudson Valley Food Bank, Tom Nardacci, said the new facility will allow the food bank to source all of the food it needs in the Hudson Valley, from the Hudson Valley.  He also said they are accepting private donations to aid in the construction of the center.
