NANUET- Celebrate International Women’s Day with a kick-off party to foster awareness & support for the 37th Annual Women’s Distance Festival 5K. The event will be held at the Growler and Gill in Nanuet on March 8, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

This event serves as the inaugural celebration for the 37th Annual Women’s Distance Festival 5K Run/Walk, meticulously organized by the esteemed Rockland Road Runners Club.
Attendees will have the opportunity to interface with the newly appointed race directors, as well as to regale fellow enthusiasts with their personal race anecdotes. Moreover, the occasion will present a platform to explore potential sponsorship avenues and to secure coveted slots in this year’s race ahead of the general public.
The Women’s Distance Festival was birthed from a fervent desire to challenge prevailing notions regarding women’s capabilities in the realm of competitive running. Despite antiquated beliefs, women have consistently exhibited unparalleled fortitude, resolve, and resilience in the pursuit of distance running excellence. This gathering stands as a poignant testament to the boundless potential of women.
Over the years, the Women’s Distance Festival has burgeoned into the preeminent Women and Girls 5K event across the tristate area, slated for July 14, 2024, at 7:45 a.m. Additionally, for those unable to participate in person, a virtual iteration of the event will be accessible from July 14th to July 21st.
The entirety of proceeds garnered from this will go to the Center for Safety & Change, a stalwart organization committed to extending support, refuge, and services to individuals impacted by sexual assault, domestic violence, human trafficking, and sundry other transgressions.
