Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County announces the appointment of three new board members

WAPPINGERS FALLS- Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County announced today the appointment of three new members to the board of directors.

New board members Simone Obermaier, Catherine Baer, and Ed Lamando have deep experience in Commercial Financing, Development, and Construction, respectively. Simone Obermaier is Vice President of Pursuit., and as a commercial and SBA financing professional she has helped small businesses access the capital they need to thrive. Before her retirement, Catherine Baer served as the Vice President for Alumnae/I Affairs and Development at Vassar College and under her leadership secured $56, million in gifts and donations during her most successful fundraising campaign.  Ed Lamando is the CEO for Thomas Gleason Inc. Having joined the firm in 1995, he is the first non-family member to serve in this position. He is a lifelong community volunteer and advocate for affordable housing in our community.

“Simone, Catherine, and Ed will bring great perspective,” said CEO Maureen Brennan Lashlee. “Habitat Dutchess is ready to move our affiliate from a program to a construction development company to meet the critical and growing need for affordable home ownership.”

Board President Pete Carr states “As Habitat Dutchess grows, we are so fortunate to find new and talented folks like Cathy, Eddie, and Simone to join our leadership team to help guide us into the next level and continue to best serve our community.

Simone, Cathy, and Eddie all concur that they are honored and excited to create a path to home ownership for Dutchess County families.

These new members join the Habitat Dutchess leadership team of;

Pete Carr, Phil Lekanides, Paul Marble, Sean Soliva, Gary Beck, John Cordeiro, Anne Constantinople, Tina Tarquinio, Ed Ortlieb and Hamar Clark.
