MONROE – A 35-year-old Newburgh man who pled guilty to grand larceny for shoplifting over $2,000 worth of merchandise from the Target store in the Town of Monroe, is expected to receive a prison sentence of 1 ½ to three years when he is back in court in April.

This is Joshua Claybourne’s 28th criminal conviction and his third felony conviction.

It was alleged that on May 30, 2023, Claybourne walked out of the Target store in Monroe with a shopping cart loaded with items valued at over $2,000.

At his plea proceeding, Claybourne admitted to taking the merchandise without paying for it and that he had previously been convicted of grand larceny.
